Police and other emergency crews are on the scene after a multi-vehicle crash on the QEW in east Mississauga this afternoon (May 15) caused a tractor-trailer to roll over onto its side.
There is no word yet on what led to the crash in the eastbound lanes between Cawthra and Dixie Rds., which reportedly involved at least three vehicles.
Mississauga firefighters, who were on scene along with the OPP, say no injuries were initially reported and two of the three lanes are blocked for investigation and cleanup.
Debris from a damaged vehicle spilled over onto part of South Service Rd., fire officials say, impacting traffic on that route as well.
The OPP later reported the transport sideswiped three cars before it struck the sound wall and flip on its side. They confirmed the truck driver suffered minor injuries and was taken to hospital.
Traffic has slowed in both directions on the QEW as vehicles make their way past the wreckage and motorists on the other side of the highway slow down to take a look.
The OPP has closed all but one lane.
