First Look at 'Skeleton Crew' and Details Revealed at 'Star Wars' Celebration

The mystery is no more! Lucasfilm has finally shared a first look at the upcoming Star Wars: Skeleton Crew series during their Studio Showcase panel at Star Wars Celebration London. However, the first-ever teaser trailer hasn't made its way online.

First, Dave Filoni described the show as "a story about a group of kids in the Star Wars galaxy" who go on an adventure that is "more than they can handle". Jon Favreau also commented on what we already knew: that Jon Watts pitched the series to him during production of Spider-Man: Far From Home. "Even though kids were in those movies, they weren't necessarily kids’ films", said Kathleen Kennedy of Amblin, confirming they’re indeed going for the same vibe with Skeleton Crew.

The full lineup of directors was revealed as well. We already knew about Jon Watts, David Lowery, the Daniels, and Jake Schreier, but The Mandalorian veterans Bryce Dallas Howard and Lee Isaac Chung have also joined the party!

Jude Law also showed up to discuss the show:

"I was like 6 years old when this galaxy gripped me… I’ve been in preparation ever since."

Ravi Cabot-Conyers, Kyriana Kratter, and Robert Timothy Smith — who had already been semi-confirmed months ago to be part of the main cast — joined Law afterwards. Oscar-nominated actress Kerry Condon (The Banshees of Inisherin) has a role in the show too.

We also got some first-look images of the series, though they don't reveal much:

Finally, attendees were treated to a Celebration-exclusive first trailer described as The Goonies meets Star Wars. "Don't you ever want to do anything exciting?", one of the kids says. There's a school and suburbs; pirates, including Vane from The Mandalorian, make a return; and it appears that Jude Law is a Jedi hiding out or, at least, a Force-sensitive refugee.

Stay tuned for details on Skeleton Crew as they come out. This was everything shown during Lucasfilm's Studio Showcase panel. The series is still set to debut on Disney Plus later this year.
