FHP: Man dies after rear
A 36-year-old Fort Myers man died after his SUV collided with a semitrailer.
The crash happened about 11:15 p.m. Monday along Daniels Parkway, near Fiddlesticks Boulevard, in Fort Myers, according to a Florida Highway Patrol incident report.
The SUV was traveling east on Daniels Parkway, approaching Fiddlesticks Boulevard, as the semitrailer, an empty fuel tanker, was stopped on eastbound Daniels Parkway, on the outside lane, for a red light.

The SUV rear-ended the semitrailer.
The SUV driver was critically injured and taken to Gulf Coast Medical Center, where he later died. The semitrailer driver, a 47-year-old Port Charlotte man, didn't suffer any injuries.
At least eight people have died on Lee County roads this year, according to Florida Highway Patrol data.
