Dover, New Hampshire crash: Traffic snarled after truck rollover

A tractor-trailer hauling 60,000 pounds of garbage overturned in Dover on Wednesday morning.

The truck overturned around 10:15 a.m. at the intersection of Route 16 North at the Exit 8W off-ramp and Knox Marsh Road.

Police said the tractor-trailer was attempting to merge onto Knox Marsh Road westbound when the driver traveled over the granite curb, attempted to overcorrect and rolled onto its side.

The driver suffered minor injuries and was medically cleared at the scene, police said.

Police said it took hours for crews to clear the trash and bring the truck upright.

Exit 8W on the northbound side was temporarily closed while cleans cleaned up the crash scene.

Significant traffic backups were reported in the area.

Police said negligent driving appears to be a factor in the crash. They did not specify the nature of the negligence, but added that all aspects of the crash are being investigated.
