It happened at approximately 3:26 p.m. on Dixie Highway near St. Clair Avenue at the railroad underpass.
Police say a semi-tractor trailer transporting a storage unit struck the underpass, which caused the storage unit to fall off the trailer and strike a Ford Fusion.
The two occupants of the Ford Fusion, a mother and her daughter, were transported to Fort Hamilton Hospital with potentially serious injuries, according to police.
Police say the driver of the tractor-trailer was not injured.
Police say the crash is still under investigation.
