BENTON HARBOR — The Michigan State Police Commercial Vehicle Enforcement is investigating why a trailer broke away from the tractor pulling it Thursday in Benton Harbor.

Benton Harbor Deputy Director of Fire Services Brian Kazmierzak said the accident in the roundabout near Whirlpool Corp.’s Riverview Campus at 600 W. Main St. appears to have happened because the driver was allegedly going too fast and the trailer was in poor condition.
